Unicommerce, India’s leading e-commerce and retail enablement SaaS platforms has reported a 24% growth in e-commerce order volumes along with a 27% increase in GMV for the pre-Rakshabandhan sales during 2025 as compared to 2024.
This is based on 18 million order items processed by Unicommerce through its flagship platform Uniware, during the 7-day period from 31st July to 6th August 2025, compared with the sale window last year (10th - 16th August 2024).
Categories including fashion accessories, jewellery, makeup, home decor and furniture, food products, apparels, and nutraceuticals and supplements led the demand.
Interestingly, the average order value (AOV) across select categories also recorded notable growth.
Jewellery registered a 27% year-on-year increase, rising from INR 905 to INR 1,150, while beauty, wellness, and personal care products saw a 21% surge, with AOV climbing from INR 185 to INR 225 during the sale period.
Tier-III cities accounted for approximately 35% of the total order volumes during the 2025 festive sale period, with towns such as Kolar, Gandhinagar, Rohtak, Kamrup, and Roopnagar witnessing a sharp rise in volumes.
While metros and Tier-I cities such as Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata remained key contributors. However, Tier-II cities including Jaipur, Lucknow, Surat, Coimbatore, Indore, and Nagpur drove the highest order volume growth at around 41%.
